Distractions
For my first project, I chose "distractions" as the subject matter. After some difficulty brainstorming, the idea was illuminated in my head after realizing how relevant it was. i, myself, was becoming greatly distracted this semester, and it allowed me to fall behind my studies. I had noticed similar situations with my friends. Whether it was sports, video games, television, or heavy partying, many students I knew were having trouble keeping homework at the top of the to-do list. After some short research online, I realized this is a very real problem in this country's universities. It is potentially one of the biggest reasons American students are failing in international comparison, thus leading to an overwhelmed workforce. This has been brought to the attention of several advocacy groups, and even President Obama. Sadly, it is a problem without an obvious solution. I firmly believe time management should be taught in elementary-level schools, and something focused on by families. It is a problem that is best attacked by everybody afflicted, and at a personal level. We are wasting too much time...
